Veterinary Ireland, the professional body representing vets in Ireland, presented a Position Paper entitled “Protecting Health” to the Department of Agriculture & Food in response to its request for commentary on the proposed Animal Remedies Legislation – EU Directive [2004/28/EC].
Veterinary Ireland expressed the view that the Legislation can protect the interests of both consumers and farmers. “Maintaining public health standards and maintaining competitiveness at farm level can be compatible,” said Frank O’Sullivan, President, Veterinary Ireland (pictured).
