2003 ASA Conference

The Agricultural Science Association (ASA) held its 2003 national conference in Kilkenny City, with the theme of ‘Agriculture at a Crossroads.’

2002 Stronghold Veterinary Pet Care Awards

John O’Mahony from Animal Care Hospital, Douglas, Cork, was the national winner of the Stronghold Veterinary Pet Care Awards, 2002.

Best Irish Mature Cheddar, 2002

At the 2002 IFEX exhibition, the winners of The Kerrygold Cup for the Best Irish Mature Cheddar were Horgan’s Delicatessen Supplies & Wexford Vintage Cheddar.

Animal Health 2002, Veterinary Ireland

Animal patients outnumber the population of Ireland by at least 8:1, with the vital role of animal health as part of our economy and social life the focus of an exhibition at the RDS – Animal Health 2002.

John Savident, the actor familiar as the famous butcher, Fred, in Granada Television’s Coronation Street, officially opened the newly developed store of James Whelan Butchers in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary.  Progress Communications helped proprietor Pat Whelan to co-ordinate the launch (April 2002).

Pfizer Animal Health announced its sponsorship of the national Stronghold Veterinary Pet Care Awards in 2000.  Brian More O’Ferrall, Marketing Manager, Pfizer Animal Health is pictured at the announcement with Holly Walsh from Lucan and her feline friend, Bentley.

Broadcaster Joe Duffy was a member of the national judging panel for the inaugural Veterinary Pet Care Awards, the national award programme developed by Progress Communications, which invited members of the public to nominate their vets for excellence in the search for Ireland’s Dr Doolittle or James Herriott.      Joe Duffy is pictured with Penny at the introduction of the awards in 2000.

DeLaval: World Leader in Milking Machine Technology

Alfa Laval changed its worldwide corporate identity to DeLaval during 2000. The launch of the new identity in Ireland was managed by Progress Communications, with a series of regional briefings for dealers and a launch for national media.  The media launch included a visit to a top dairy farmer to see how the technology is making a difference to his life.
